Since my last blog post, i have mainly been finishing up a few things which i started when i was living back in Hereford. This post is dedicated to a few of those things and also, to a few new goings on.
Here’s where I’m at with my ‘Roses Are Dead’ jacket.. I found a white, Levi’s biker jacket for this piece. My embroidery is now attached and I decided to go with the white, sequin tassel trim, which looks gorgeous!
OK, so it’s not exactly finished yet but it will be soon! Insert badly lit selfie here!
I have also finished ‘My Body Is My Queen’ which is an oil painting inspired by some of my song lyrics/poetry.
I decided to write the words to the first half of the song on the painting. That gold paint is incredible! Expensive but incredible. It’s Winsor & Newton from their series 2 range.
I have also completed another ‘Under The Rainbow’ painting but this time i attached some of my old, dead paint brushes around each side of the canvas.
This idea came about because i have been thinking recently about all the old tools i throw away. I like the idea of incorporating them into some of my work rather than wasting them. I’m really pleased with this idea and this painting.
The last thing i wanted to mention was my latest giveaway, which is happening over on my Facebook page now. The winner of this customized ‘Poisoned Apple’ print will be announced on Sunday (the 15th of April) at 1pm. Check it out if you would like to be in with a chance of winning.
I still have a few loose ends to tie up, but my next goal is to settle into a proper work routine with my painting and to set long term goals for my work.
